Recommended Supplies
Clients are to provide all of their own cleaning & organizing supplies** for use during all services. Based on client’s priority list & individual goals, the following are recommended to have for housekeeper to use:
- Supply caddy (one or two, depending on number of supplies)
- Reuseable rubber gloves
- Lots of absorbent towels if available (such as: rags, wash clothes, micro-fiber clothes, reusable baby diapers, hand towels, etc – whatever client has available as several are used during each clean – the more available, the better)
- Paper towels (especially if towels are not being used to wash windows, counters, toilets, etc)
- Clorox wipes (if cleaner & towels/power towels are not being used to clean toilets & other surfaces)
- Sponges (for cleaning showers, sinks & counters)
- Duster (with extendable handle is helpful for high areas) & duster refills (if using Swiffer)
- Window cleaner (for windows, mirrors & shower doors)
- Multi-surface cleaners (may also need specific cleaners for granite, stainless steel or other surfaces that require a specific product to clean with)
- Bathroom cleaners – for tub, tile, shower & outside toilet bowl
- Toilet bowl cleaner, toilet brush & pumice stone (for hard water build up & stains in toilet)
- Toothbrushes for hard to reach spots (around faucets & toilet seats)
- Broom & dustpan
- Working Vacuum with attachments (portable & smaller/lighter if carrying up/down stairs is helpful)
- Mop, bucket & appropriate cleaning agent for specific floor type (or other floor cleaner client uses to clean floors, such as a swifter wet-jet or Tineco)
- A cleaning agent for sinks
- Garbage bags
- Dish soap, brushes & dishwasher detergent
- Laundry detergent & laundry basket
- Furniture polish
- Stain remover for carpets or other areas
- Oven cleaner
** If client does not have all supplies needed on first personalized housekeeping visit, housekeeper will do what they can with supplies on hand & after housekeeper has seen what’s available, housekeeper will recommend supplies needed for the next visit.
